A Look At Current Trends In Table Lamps |
|
|
A key element in the decor of any room is the lighting.
Throughout any home, proper lighting can be achieved through the
use of table lamps. These lamps come in a variety of styles and
materials and can be found in a wide range of prices.
Table lamps are an inexpensive way to update a room's decor.
Simply by using new table lamps, or even by replacing existing
lamp shades, you can give a room an updated look. Visit a
furniture showroom or even browse a decorating magazine to get a
flavor for the ways that designers utilize different table
lamps.
Some popular materials used in table lamps are brass, ceramic,
bronze, iron, and glass. By repeating other design elements from
the room, you can achieve a look of continuity in your home's
decor. However, don't be afraid to use contrasting elements as
well for a very eclectic look. Many decor styles today do
include a variety of |

|
asymmetrical design elements.
So where are table lamps typically used? Table lamps are used
throughout a home to provide proper lighting and to give accent
style to a room's decor. They may be used in every room of the
home, even on the patio or backyard deck. In the living room,
they are typically used in the seating arrangement area to
provide proper light for reading and/or entertaining. They are
usually placed on tables that are next to sofas and chairs but
may also be placed on a buffet or on another large furniture
piece in the room. Table lamps in the main living and family
room areas are usually of a larger size, to give balance and
height to the room.
In the bedrooms, table lamps function to provide accent and
lighting around the bed. These lamps are usually of a smaller
size and complement the decor of the bedroom. Lamps for
children's rooms are typically smaller and are |
|
placed on a
bedside table or perhaps even a desk. They can be found in the
traditional designs as well as character-based designs.
Styles of table lamps can be found to fit any room's theme.
Popular styles now include Asian, Victorian, southwestern,
traditional, modern, art decor, country, mission, and of course
the famous Tiffany style. You can mix and match styles
throughout your home.
You can bring even more flair to a room through the use of
decorative shades for the table lamps. Many times, simply
updating the lamp shade will give your room new life! Lamps
shades are available in many different styles including beaded
trim, faux leather, silk, traditional, paper, and pleated.
